James Donald Ihrke, age 59, of Carroll, Iowa, and formerly of Lake City passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home at Westwood Knolls unexpectedly.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Lanesboro Cemetery.
Born on July 15, 1951 at Lake City, Iowa, he was the son of Donald Robert and Georgia (Clark) Ihrke. He grew up on a farm south of Lake City and graduated from Lake City High School in 1970. After high school he studied accounting at Iowa Central Community College and came back to Lake City to farm with his father. Upon retirement he moved to Westwood Knolls Apartments in Carroll in 2008. He was affiliated with the Union Church of Lake City. In his spare time he enjoyed watching television, reading the newspaper, being on the tractor, and spending time with his Mom and Dad.
Surviving are his mother Georgia Ihrke of Carroll; an aunt Lorraine Myers (Frank) of Athens, Ohio; an uncle Harlan Ihrke (Lois) of Sac City, Iowa; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Donald in 2006, an uncle Milton Clark and his grandparents.
