Jacque Lyons

September 2, 1964 — July 19, 2025

Jacque Lyons, 60, of Glidden, Iowa, passed away on July 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother, beloved grandmother, loyal sister, and true friend, Jacque’s warmth, humor, and fierce love for her family left an indelible mark on everyone blessed to know her.

Jacque was the devoted and cherished mother of Christopher Lyons (and his partner Jackie) of Glidden, Michael Schulze and his wife Lindsey of Glidden, and Jessica Jackson and her  husband Ricky of Lake City. She was the proud and deeply adored grandmother of Raelynn, Samara, Rowen, and Emarie Lyons; Landon, Braxton, and Kaylee Schulze; and Jaxsyn Platt, Mathias, Jocelynn Jackson, and a great-grandson Huxon Lyons (on the way). Her family was her heart, and she gave them her unwavering love, support, and guidance through every chapter of life.

She was the loving sister of Terri Lyons of Oskaloosa and Jeff Lyons and his husband David Levison of Petaluma, California. Jacque was also a treasured aunt to McKenzie Vogel and her children Zeno, Zander, and Levi; Brittney and Shelby; and many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her beloved life partner Becky Law; her parents, James and Phyllis Lyons; her brothers Jerry and Jimmy Lyons; and a step-son Christopher Schulze.

Jacque graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1983 and went on to attend DMACC. Throughout her life, she was a hardworking and driven entrepreneur. Alongside her partner Becky, she proudly owned and operated several successful restaurants across western Iowa, including the Dairy Mart in Glidden, The Checkered Flag in Arcadia, Jazzy’s Restaurant in Coon Rapids, The Top Hat in Glidden, and BJ’s Steak and Spirits in both Auburn and Carroll. Her creativity, work ethic, and welcoming spirit made each of these establishments a local favorite, and her loyal customers often became cherished friends.

Later in life, Jacque worked for Collins Aerospace in Carroll for seven years, where she built strong friendships and earned the respect of her colleagues. She retired only when her health no longer allowed her to work, though she remained as sharp, witty, and caring as ever.

Outside of work, Jacque found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved working in her flower garden with her sister Terri, had a talent for putting puzzles together, and an adventurous spirit that came alive when she was riding her motorcycle. But perhaps nothing brought her more happiness, though, than sharing a cold Bud Light with her family and friends—laughing, reminiscing, and most of all just watching her grandchildren run and play.

Jacque will be remembered most for her fierce loyalty and unshakable devotion to her family. She was the kind of person who would do anything for the people she loved, and she did it with strength, grace, and a good dose of sass. Whether cheering loudly from the sidelines of a grandchild’s game, offering a hot meal and a warm heart to a friend in need, or holding her family together through life’s toughest trials, Jacque was the glue that bound generations. Her presence was strong, her laugh was infectious, and her love was unconditional.

She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, kindness, and deep familial love. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the recipes we remember, the flowers she planted, the puzzles we complete, and the lessons she taught us all by example. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
