Jack Engstrom

Jack Engstrom, age 80, of Carroll passed away on Monday, September 20, 2016 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Willey. Casket bearers will be John Shymanski, Dan Tigges, Lou Ann Tigges, Deb Reisberg, Bonnie Vogt, Melissa Olberding, Karen Scharfenkamp, Alison Sturm, and Margaret Behrens. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Jack’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on May 2, 1936 in Boone, Iowa, he was the son of Walter and Dorothy (Benshoff) Engstrom. Jack lived at Woodward State Hospital until he moved to New Hope Village at its inception. He has made his home at Regency Park for the past two years. Jack enjoyed fishing, bowling, spending time outdoors, listening to Johnny Cash, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. Jack is survived by his New Hope Village family and his friends and staff at Regency Park Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents.
