Joyce Frazier, age 87, of Jefferson, IA, and formerly of Scranton, IA, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Regency Park in Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Church of Christ in Scranton with Rev. Daniel Cummings of First Baptist Church in Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton from 5 – 7 P.M. on Tuesday. The casket will be moved to the Scranton Church of Christ at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Joyce was born on July 25, 1938 at the farm of her grandmother west of Scranton. She was the daughter of Wilmer “Shorty” and Lela “Lee” (Mull) Stevens. She grew up in Scranton where she graduated from high school in 1955. Following high school Joyce worked for the Scranton Telephone Company, Scranton Congregate Meals, and she sold Avon. Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Larry Frazier, on August 11, 1957 at the Church of Christ in Scranton. The couple made their home in Scranton their entire married life until moving to Jefferson in 2016. Joyce was active with the Church of Christ while living in Scranton where she taught Sunday school. After moving to Jefferson Joyce and Larry joined the First Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Varscei Club in Scranton for many years. Joyce and Larry wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona for 16 years. She loved to socialize with her many friends and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren. Joyce enjoyed collecting spoons, Care Bears, Precious Moments and her one loving husband Larry.
Joyce is survived by her husband Larry of 68 years of Jefferson; a son Randy Frazier of Clarksville, IN; two daughters: Jodie Gibson (Scott) of Bellevue, NE, and Brenda McCullough (Kevin) of Jefferson; six grandchildren: Nick Frazier (Marisa), Melissa Tejral, Jennifer Brown (Jacob), Christopher Gibson (Anne), Jacob Spaulding (Ashley), and Megan Reeves (Austin); ten great-grandchildren: a brother Dennis Stevens (Leigh) of Norwalk, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer “Shorty” and Lela “Lee” Stevens; her in-laws Refus and Helen Frazier; a brother Kenneth Stevens (Verneva); and two sisters-in-law: Arlys Anderson (Ronald) and Patricia Snow (Tom).
