Irwin Theodore Wiederin

Irwin Theodore Wiederin, age 89, of Lidderdale, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Regency Park in Carroll.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Deacon Louis Meiners officiating.  Casket bearers will be Irwin’s grandsons.  Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 10 – 11 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.

Irwin was born on December 20, 1931 in Carroll County, IA, and he was the son of August and Marie (Wernimont) Wiederin.  He grew up on several farms and attended school in Glidden.  After moving away from the family farm, he began woodworking and carpentry work.  Irwin was married to Ruby Kuebler on August 28, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll.  The couple made their home in Ralston where he worked construction until going to work for McLaughlin Farms where he worked for over 20 years.  Irwin and Ruby moved to Lidderdale in 1993 and were members of Holy Family Parish.  Irwin enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family.  Irwin also enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia.

Irwin is survived by two daughters: Connie Gliem (Jeff) of Dow City, IA, and Sandy Adamson (Craig) of Red Granite, WI; three sons: Mike Wiederin of Ankeny, Kenneth Wiederin (Connie) of Glidden, and Tim Wiederin (Joyce) of Dysart; a daughter-in-law Maureen Wiederin of Gilbertsville, KY; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don Wiederin (Lou) of Glidden and Dick Wiederin of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Irwin was preceded in death by his parents August and Marie Wiederin; his in-laws Tom and Ida Kuebler; a brother Marvin; and a sister Rosemary Haran; two sons Mark “Smiley” and Danny; two grandsons: Shawn Gliem and Tristan Trudeau and his wife Ruby in 2019.
