Ione K. Daisy

Ione K. Daisy, age 92, of Carroll passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Father Timothy Johnson of Holy Spirit Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 – 7 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on September 5, 1922 in Audubon, she was the daughter of John and Faye (Hanna) Werner. She grew up on her family’s farm near Audubon and graduated from Gray High School. She was married to Steven Billmeier on December 28, 1942 in Carroll. The couple farmed near Carroll and lived on an acreage. The couple divorced and Ione later married Melford Daisy in 1957. Ione and Melford lived on a farm near Lake City and she worked at the nursing home. Following their divorce she moved to Carroll in 1961 and worked as a cook at Mac’s Casino Café, the Brown Derby, and Paul and Wayne’s. Ione loved playing Bingo, crossword puzzles, word search puzzles, cards and spending time with her family. Ione is survived by two daughters: Linda Dirkx and her husband Steven of Radcliff, KY, and Beverly Bartruff and her husband Sheldon of Eustis, NE; two sons: Robert Billmeier of Jefferson and Leo Billmeier and his wife Donna of Carroll; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Dorothy Friedman, and two brothers: Arthur and Earnest Werner.
