Harry Detlef Hagge, 85, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Carroll died Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Unity Point Health Allen Hospital, Waterloo. A scriptural prayer service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Craig Collison of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. The Iowa State Patrol officers will form an honor guard at the funeral home and at the cemetery. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Military Honors will be conducted by the Iowa National Guard and the Carroll American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com He was born June 27, 1930, in Arcadia, Iowa, the son of Harry R. Hagge, Sr., and Lydia J. (Hoogestraat) Hagge. He married Madeline Hamann November 3, 1951, at St. Lawrence Church, Carroll, Iowa. She preceded him in death October 30, 2006. Harry became and Iowa Highway Patrolman in June 1952 and served for 31 years retiring in February 1981. Command Sergeant Major Hagge served in the Army National Guard, HHC 1st BN 133rd Infantry, retiring in 1980 after 32 years of service. He also owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Cedar Falls. His memberships include Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Izaac Walton League, Enlisted Association National Guard of Iowa, Iowa Army National Guard Sergeant Major Association and the Cedar Falls Gun Club. Survivors include his son, Jon (Debra) Hagge, of Ankeny, Iowa; three daughters, Lori Whitehill, of McPherson, Kansas, Dana (John) Eastman, of Nisswa, Minnesota and Kerrie (Kurt) Albrecht, of Lenexa, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeffrey), Shannon (Jonathon), Drew (Amber), Evan (Alanna), Alex (Stephanie), Blake, Brooke, and Connor; nine great grandchildren, and his sister, Neoma Hagge, of Carroll. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
