Glenn Harris “Rocky” Jochims, age 83, of Carroll passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Organist for the service will be Jan Hoff. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on March 9, 1932 on his family’s farm near Schleswig, he was the son of Adolph and Amanda (Stockfleth) Jochims. He grew up in Denison and attended Zion Lutheran School as a boy and graduated from Denison High School in 1950. He moved to Carroll after high school and worked for Houlihan Motors. He went to work for Arnold Motor Supply in 1962, became Manager in 1980 and then retired in 1993. He was married to Shirley Jensen on March 21, 1986 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union was born a daughter Amanda Rose. Rocky was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll and the Moose Lodge. Rocky is survived by his daughter Amanda Hartman (Corey) of Lidderdale; a brother Arlo “Pappy” Jochims of Carroll; brother in-law Roy Johnson of Schleswig; grandsons Camden and Keaton Hartman; and several nieces and nephews. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Harvey Jochims and Clarence Jochims, and five sisters: Hilda LaFrentz (Art), Sadie Ernst, Leona Gehring (Bill), Alice Johnson and Lorraine Preul (Delbert) .
