Glenn Lockhart, age 84, of Carroll passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Organist for the service will be Nancy Davis and soloist and guitarist will be Kevin Patrick. Casket bearers will be Christopher Sturm, Gregory Sturm, Joseph Sturm, Luke Lockhart, Dan Garrett, and Brady Weerheim. Honorary casket bearers will be Larry Leib, Tom Rogers, Joe Reed, and George Towers. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery with military honors by the Carroll American Legion. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Masonic memorial service at 7:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to First United Methodist Church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Glenn’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born February 20, 1933 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of CW “Bert” and Gertrude (Jones) Lockhart. He lived in Omaha, NE coming to Carroll in 1945 with his family when they purchased the Automotive Electric Company and renamed it the Lockhart Company. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1950 and attended Drake University. He worked in the business and after college served in the U.S. Army. Glenn was married to Lucille “Lucy” Roth on June 26, 1955. Glenn had several jobs before purchasing Blackhawk Marine at Lake View, which he owned and operated for 20 years, retiring in 2001. He was a kind and caring person. Glenn enjoyed family get-togethers, especially holiday dinners. His lifelong hobby was fishing with his buddies of 50 years, as well as fishing vacations in Minnesota. He enjoyed telling stories, playing cribbage, and was a weekly listener of the Gaither Music Group. He was a 65 year member of the First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and served on several committees. He was 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge#264 A.F. and A.M. He had a passion for the community Christmas Dinner at the Masonic Lodge and for the Carroll Airport Fly In Breakfast, which he headed up for 20 years. Glenn is survived by his wife Lucy of 61 years of Carroll; a son David Lockhart (Sherry) of Ankeny; a daughter Lori Sturm (Mark) of Glidden; seven grandchildren: Christopher Sturm (Marie), Gregory Sturm (Steph Holste), Amy Sturm (Brady Weerheim), Joseph Sturm (Kelsie), Lucas Lockhart, Shelby Lockhart, and Nicole Garrett (Dan); a brother Gene Lockhart (Carolyn) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Dr. Guy Jones; a daughter, Lynn Ann Lockhart in 2011; a sister, Lorraine Kunes; a brother-in-law, Franklin Roth; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Krieg (Dale).
