Glenn Allen Cale, age 78, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by his family.
Per Glenn’s wishes, he has donated his body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, and the family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Swan Lake Conservation Center in Carroll.

Glenn was born on August 14, 1946 in Carroll, IA, and was the son of Loren and Lena (Vanderloo) Cale. Glenn was united in marriage to Karla Kay Kolls on April 20, 1968 in Denison, IA. They were blessed with four children: Kim, Joey, Jill, and Kelly. He was employed with IBP in Denison for 30 years and later worked for Farner Bocken in Carroll until his retirement in 2021. Glenn was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. He was an avid fisherman and loved every chance he got to go fishing. Glenn was very active and he loved all his friends that became family to him at Stonebridge Suites of Carroll. You could often find him playing dice and cards and was their caretaker and made sure everyone was taken care of. He was so loved by them all. He also enjoyed taking his dog Marley on walks. But most of all he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Glenn is survived by his wife Karla Cale of Carroll; children: Kim (Jim) Fields of Carroll, Joey (Monica) Cale of Westside, Jill (Damon) Bock of Carroll, and Kelly (Joe) Tomka of Carroll; seven grandchildren: Heath (Jennifer) Wright, Tarra (Nick) Sisson, Chance Wright, Maddison (Jake) Bruggeman, Dawson Bock, Kylie Tomka, and Jarett Tomka; three great-grandchildren; sister Mary Kirsch of Carroll; sister-in-law JoAnn Cale of Carroll; brother-in-law Tom Percell of Marysville, WA; his extended family at Stonebridge Suites of Carroll, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Lena Cale; his parents-in-law, Carl and Florence Kolls; brothers and sister-in-law, Ray Cale and Frank (Julie) Cale; sister Dorothy Persell; brother-in-law Norbert Kirsch; and brother-in-law Virgil Kolls; and nephew Jeff Kirsch.
