Frank Raymond Meiners, age 82, of Carroll, Iowa died at his home in Carroll on October 21,2007. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 25, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Scranton with Father James McCormick as celebrant. Lector will be Sheila St.Peter and mass server will be Richard Fiedler. Gift Beaers will be Richard Meiners and Marilyn Haberlein. Casket Bearers will be Brian Johnson, Rod Walker, Chris Naylor, Brian Hunter, Scott Hunter, Steve Hunter. Honorary casket Bearers will be Earl Haberlein, Richard Hunter, Dee Naylor, Bob Seaman, Leo Petersen and Ed Petersen. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30PM on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary at 3PM and a Christian Wake Service at 7PM.. The casket will be moved to St. Paul Catholic Church in Scranton at 8:30 AM on Thursday for visitation until time of the service. Interment will be in the Scranton Cemetery at Scranton, Iowa. Frank was born on August 8, 1925 at Scranton, Iowa and was the son of Herman and Catherine Haberlein Meiners. As a young boy he attended and graduated from Scranton High School in 1943. He was married to Louise Mundus on November 5, 1966 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Ft. Dodge, Iowa with Father Macenvoy as celebrant. Frank has lived in Carroll since 1993 coming here from the farm where he had farmed most of his life. After moving to Carroll he worked for a time at Tractor Supply and continued to farm in the evenings. In his spare time he enjoyed visiting with his friends at the coffee shop and watching TV. Surviving are a son Richard of Carroll; a sister-in- law Agnes Meiners of Jefferson; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brothers: John, Herman, and Al, and a sister Rosie.
