Florence Louise “Billie” Hoff, age 99, of Carroll, passed away on March 10, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 16, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll with Rev. Rikki Sorensen officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from after 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Sally Patten and soloist will be Mary Ross. Casket bearers will be Michael Kroeger, Troy Kroeger, Matt Kroeger, Ryan Hoff, Al Blum, Max Blum and Gabe Kroeger. An honor guard will be formed at the funeral service by Billie’s P.E.O. sisters and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. Burial will be at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, South 78th St., in Omaha, NE. at 2:00 P.M. on Monday afternoon.
Born on July 22, 1915, in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of John Lester and Florence Emily (Ward) Doan. She was married to Henry A. (Abbott) Hoff on October 2, 1940, at Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha.
Billie was active within the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll, and served as president of the women’s organization for several years. Until recently, she was also an active member of PEO (Chapter EB), having held many offices in that organization, as well as a longtime president of that chapter. Billie also served on the Library Committee, the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, and several other local organizations during her over 60 years in Carroll.
Billie is survived by her daughter Mary Maxine Kroeger of Sergeant Bluff, IA; a son Henry Doan Hoff of Laguna Niguel, CA; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Mary Maxine Gardner, and a son-in-law, Terry L. Kroeger.
