Fawn Lappe

Fawn E. Lappe, age 87, of Glidden, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Carroll Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Jessica Rockhold officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5-7 P.M. on Friday. Casket bearers will be Barry Snyder, Jim Wiederin, John Johnston, and Reggy Rohrbeck. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Born on April 16, 1922 at Carroll, Iowa she was the daughter of William H. and Inez (Sievers) Dunn. She grew up in Carroll. She was married to George K. Lappe on December 16, 1946 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Carroll. After marriage the couple farmed near Glidden for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crosswords, spending time with friends, and traveling to Las Vegas to visit her son Steve and his family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Glidden. Surviving are her son Steve Lappe and his wife Sally of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren: Jason Lappe and his wife Mandy of Mesa, Arizona, and Megan Guillermo and her husband Brandon of Las Vegas, Nevada; one great grandson Skyler Guillermo; and a nephew Carl Schwartz of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband in 1974, and a sister Donna Schwartz.
