Eva Clara Jentzen, age 98, of Carroll passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Regency Park in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by the Holy Spirit Choir with Barb McDermott as organist. Lector will be JoAnn Brincks. Casket bearers will be Don Kitt, Mike Schenkelberg, Mike Bayer, Bob Dentlinger, Dale Goetzinger, and Dean Onken. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass on Saturday. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Eva’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 24, 1919 near Dedham, Iowa, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zitzlsperger) Bayer. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Dedham through the eighth grade. Eva was married to Harley Jentzen on April 25, 1949 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dedham by Fr. Pick. The couple made their home in Carroll where Harley worked for Farner Bocken and Eva was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she served on the church guild. Eva enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, and sewing. Eva is survived by her daughter Donna Jentzen Walker of Alexandria, VA; a son Tom Jentzen of Lacey, WA; four grandchildren: Kristine Jentzen, John Jentzen, Lindsay Jentzen, and Stacey Walker; one great-grandson, Ben; and a sister Rita Williams. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harley in 1990; three brothers: Gene, Russell, and Harold a son John.
