Eunice Rice

Eunice Ann Rice, age 84, of Carroll and formerly of Auburn passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Auburn with Fr. Lynn Bruch officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on May 21, 1933 in Breda, IA, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Bruning) Miller. She grew up in Breda and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1950. She was married to Harry Rice in 1950. Harry and Eunice lived the Ulmer – Auburn area. Eunice enjoyed going to the casino, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Eunice is survived by her daughter Phyllis Stark of Cedar Rapids; a son Phillip Rice of California; 4 grandchidlren; a brother Archie Miller (Diane) of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters: Alice Kenkel (Joe) of Westpoint, Ne, Mary Lou Hermsen (Dan) of Breda; and several nieces and nephews. Eunice was precede in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Cheryl Rice; a brother Bing Miller.
