Elaine Pearl Dingman, age 62, of Glidden, IA passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Maui Memorial Medical Center in Maui, Hawaii. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Glidden with Rev. Lorinda Hoover officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Mary Ross. Casket bearers will be Scott Dingman, Tim Dingman, Ken Dingman, Greg Schroeder, Rob Silkman, and Phil Cline. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery near Scranton. Born on January 6, 1952 at Green Bay, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Robert and Vera (Bennett) Dingman. Elaine was affectionately known to most as “Pete”. She grew up in the Scranton area and graduated from Scranton Consolidated Schools in 1970. Following high school she attended Webster City Junior College and then worked for Stevenson Insurance in Webster City. She then moved to Creston and worked for Zarffis Insurance Company. Elaine moved to Glidden in 1984 and lived with her sister Wanda. While living in Glidden she did house cleaning and worked for Regis Inventory. She was currently employed by American Home Shield in Carroll where she has worked for the past 22 years. She was a member of the Glidden United Methodist Church where she served on the board of trustees. Pete enjoyed cooking, her kitty Tiggie, playing games, vacationing, having fires in her fire pit, Mustang cars, and getting together with her family. She also loved to read and find unique gifts for family and friends on her many shopping adventures. Elaine is survived by three sisters: Marilyn Dingman of Glidden, Sharon Hall and her husband Roger of Davenport, IA, and Debbie Wright and her husband Lance of Glidden; twin brothers: Lyle Dingman and his wife Joan of Towanda, KS, and Larry Dingman of Davenport, IA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Cecil Wayne Dingman in infancy, Richard Dingman and Don Dingman, and a sister Wanda Stephenson.
