Duane "Dewey" Reiling

Duane “Dewey” F. Reiling, age 57, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburn with Fr. Lynn Bruch as celebrant. Music for the mass will be by St. Mary’s Choir. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. by St. Mary’s Parish. Lector for the mass will be Jenny Barthole. Gift bearers will be Madison, Sidney, and Collin Koob. Casket bearers will be Dewey’s brothers: Dale, Daryl, Delmar, Dean, and Doug Reiling, and brothers-in-law: Mark Pudenz and Rod Brant. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on December 6, 1953 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Donald and Donna Mae (Rowe) Reiling. He grew up in the Mt. Carmel area on the family farm and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1972. Following high school he worked several farming jobs and later started Reiling Trucking Company hauling livestock. Dewey was currently employed by Koster Grain in Maple River as a driver. He was an avid Iowa Hawks and Chicago Cubs fan, and bowler. He enjoyed the simple things in life: watching westerns, his dog Oscar, and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife Deb of rural Carroll; his parents Donald and Donna Mae Reiling of Auburn; his mother-in-law Betty Sapp of Carroll; four daughters: Roz Koob and her husband Rob of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa, MacKenzie Reiling of Correctionville, Iowa, Cassie Reiling of Lexington, Kentucky, and Cali Reiling of Omaha, Nebraska; a son Zac Reiling and his wife Michelle of Chatfield, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Madison, Sidney, and Collin Koob; five brothers: Dale Reiling and his wife Joan of Carroll, Daryl Reiling and his wife Susie of rural Carroll, Delmar Reiling and his wife Janna of Lake View, Dean Reiling of rural Carroll, and Doug Reiling and his wife Dee of Madrid, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Connie Pudenz and her husband Mark of rural Lidderdale, and Tami Brant and her husband Rod of Glidden; a brother-in-law Daniel Sage and his wife Christina of Nashua, New Hampshire; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.
