Duane Elmer Brus

Duane Elmer Brus, age 55, of Metarie, Louisiana, and formerly of Glidden passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2007 in Pensacola, Florida. Born on April 9, 1952 he was the son of Elmer and Alta (Stuhr) Brus. He grew up in Glidden and Graduated from Glidden High School. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for four years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and riding motorcycles. Surviving are a daughter Mandy Bock and her husband Shawn of Glidden; a son Josh Bock of Ralston; two brothers: Richard Brus of Scranton, and Larry Brus and his wife Shelly of Churdan; three sisters: Diane Johnston and her husband Alan of Scranton, Karen Schieffer of Kansas City, Missouri, and Laurie Langel and her husband David of Milford, Iowa. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Duane will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
