Douglas Arthur Hagemann, age 54, of Belle Plaine, IA, and formerly of Lidderdale passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Craig Collison officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 14, 1962 in Carroll, IA, he was the son of Norbert and Dolores (Schumacher) Hagemann. Doug grew up in Lidderdale and graduated from Carroll High School in 1980. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Family Catholic Church as a boy. Following high school he attended Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, and finished his college education at DMACC in Carroll. Doug had various jobs over the years. He was married to Tami Higgins O’Dell on July 8, 1994 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple made their home in Belle Plaine where Doug worked for Manatt’s Road Construction Company. Doug loved his step-children and grandchildren and was actively involved in their lives. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Doug always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He cherished his family and loved to spend time with them. Doug is survived by his father Norbert Hagemann of Carroll; his best friend and life partner Tami Higgins of Belle Plaine; his step-children: Brad O’Dell of Cedar Rapids and Paula O’Dell of Belle Plaine; three grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Ken Ferden of Des Moines and Maynard Hull (Kathy) of Lake City; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Doug was preceded in death by his mother Dolores Hagemann in 2006, two sisters: Sue Ferden in 2008 and Pam Hagemann in 2010.
