Dorthy Marie Sharon, age 89, of Scranton passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Regency Park Care Center in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Pastor Bob Mc Knight of the Scranton Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. on Saturday until the time of service. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery. Born on September 26, 1922 in Kendrick Township, Greene County, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Ada (Wright) Marks. She grew up in Greene County where she attended school. Dorthy was married to Merle Sharon on December 6,1941. Dorthy is survived by: two sisters, Hazel Crooks of Carrol and Fern Pedersen of Glidden, brother-in-law Roscoe Sharon of Council Bluffs, sister-in-law Shirley Liszt of Urbandale, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merle, two brothers: Sidney and Warren Marks, and two sisters: Myrtle Marks and Ellen Dillinger, and two infant brothers.
