Dorothy Snook

Dorothy Ann Snook, age 59, of Jefferson, Iowa, and formerly of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Julie Poulsen of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. on Thursday until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Casket bearers will be Darren Bishop, Zachary Chamberlain, Loren Boyce, Aaron Boyce, Alex Boyce, and Mike Gehling. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born April 23, 1952, she was the daughter of Elmer and Theresa (Daiker) Snook. She grew up in Carroll and Denison and graduated from Denison High School in 1970. Following high school she worked in several nursing homes. Most recently she was employed by the Jefferson Manor in Jefferson, Iowa. Dorothy loved her cat Marvin and playing bingo. She was always on the go. Dorothy is survived by a daughter Katie Chamberlain and her husband Jeremy of Little Rock, Arkansas; two sons: David Snook of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Thomas D. Patrick of Jefferson, Iowa; Katie and Tom’s father Thomas H. Patrick of Jefferson, Iowa; two sisters: Marlene Main of Lebanon, Oregon, and Sarah Schettler and her husband Darrell of Carroll, Iowa; two brothers Marvin Snook of Sacramento, California, and Raymond Snook and his wife Paulette of Glidden, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marion Lamaak.
