Dorothy Bushman

Dorothy Violet Bushman, age 77, of Glidden, Iowa, passed away quietly on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

A graveside service will be held at Lincoln Cemetery in Polk City at a later date.

Dorothy was born on May 28, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Dorothy (Gasperi) and Clarence Jobe Sr. She attended Saint Joseph’s Academy, graduating with the Class of 1966. Dorothy was united in marriage to David Bushman in 1979. Together, they had four children: Casey Bushman, Kevin Ross, Beau Bushman, and Nick Bushman.

Dorothy and David owned and operated a quilt shop, Threads, in Glidden for several years. She was a former member of the First Church of the Open Bible in Des Moines. She enjoyed crafting and had a lifelong love of sewing.

Dorothy will be remembered by her sons, Kevin (Jen) Ross; Beau (Jamie) Bushman; Nick Bushman; her brother, Clarence (Vonnie) Jobe Jr.; and a circle of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Bushman; her daughter, Casey Young; her parents; and her brother, David Jobe.
