Donna Ione Wright

Donna Ione Wright, age 79, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Regency Park in Carroll. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Organist for the service will be Jan Hoff and soloist will be John Wagner. Casket bearers will be Tom Wurr, Jim Wurr, Bob Wurr, Brian Wright, Bill Wright, Don Wurr, Kwasi Brooks, and Michael Richardson. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on October 23, 1935 in Carroll, she was the daughter Adolph and Dorothy (Onken) Wurr. She grew up in Lidderdale and attended country school as a girl. She was married to Kenneth Wright on November 8, 1953 at the Immanuel Lutheran Parsonage in Lidderdale. The couple made their home in Carroll where Kenny worked for Crouse Cartage and Donna worked as a cook for Carroll High School for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Donna and Kenny enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with their family. Kenny passed away in 1994. Donna has made her home at Regency Park Nursing Home since 2001. Donna is survived by a daughter Robin Richardson and her husband Joe of Marshalltown; a son John Wright and his wife Paula of Omaha; four grandchildren: Ashley Wright of Omaha, Michael Richardson and his wife Beth of Kalona, Melissa Brooks and her husband Kwasi of Marshalltown, and Dustin Wright of Omaha; three great grandchildren: Riley, Easton, and Emelia; a sister Shirley Wenck of Lidderdale; three brothers: Verle Wurr of Manning, Larry Wurr and his wife Sharon of Cary, NC, and Darwin Wurr of Laurens; two sisters-in-law: Delores Blessington of Lake View and Donna Daiker of Onamia, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Ivan Wurr, and a grandson Jesse Richarsdon.
