Donald Ray Kelly, age 62, of Carroll and formerly of Scranton passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his home in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight of the Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday. Organist for the service will be Mrs. Laura McKnight. Casket bearers will be Raymond Crook, Jay Hurt, Joe Wiederien, Richard Thomas, C.J. Clark, and Michael Thomas Jr. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on April 21, 1952 in Spirit Lake, Iowa, he was the son of Floyd Ford and Geraldine Mae (Gustoff) Kelly. He grew up in Spirit Lake until his family moved to Scranton when he was ten years old. He attended Scranton Consolidated Schools. He was married to Janet Ann Moore in November 27, 1977. The couple lived in Webster City where he worked for a farm implement company. They also lived in Auburn before moving to Carroll in 1983. Donald ran a small engine repair shop for several years out of his garage. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife Janet of Carroll; two daughters: Carrie Hurt and her husband Jay of Carroll and Bobbie Kelly of West Des Moines; two sons: Joshua Kelly and his wife Amanda of Jefferson and Robert Kelly of Carroll; six grandchildren; two sisters: Diana Thomas of Scranton and Deb Crook and her husband Raymond of Carroll; two aunts and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
