Donald Vincent Campbell, age 59, of Carroll, IA, and formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Carroll on Friday, May 9, 2026.

A private family Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Don was born on November 8, 1966 in Baltimore, MD, and he was the son of William and Linda (Sparks) Campbell. Since the young age of 6 months, he was raised by his maternal grandparents, James William and Hazel Ruth (Sparks) Rider whom he recognized as his parents. He attended Patterson Senior High School in Baltimore. After school he attended a truck driving vocational school in Maryland where he obtained his CDL. On December 3, 1992 he was united in marriage to Samantha Moore in Baltimore. Don was an over the road truck driver for his entire working career traveling coast to coast until he retired in 2019 due to his failing health. Samantha passed away on August 12, 2004. On November 10, 2011 he was united in marriage to Helene Cindy Wagoner in Belair Harford County, MD. Don was an active member of the APA Pool League in Central Maryland where he won several trophies overs the years. He enjoyed going to the races and listening to any type of music. But most of all, he loved being outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife Cindy of Carroll and formerly of Baltimore; children: Ashley Hetterich of Carroll, Christopher Hetterich (Stacia) of Windom, MN, Brittany Campbell of Baltimore, Michael Campbell (Nia) of Baltimore, Kelley Campbell (Jacey) of Carroll; 17 grandchildren; sister Jeanette Vajta (Phillip) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his fur babies; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Don is preceded in death by his first wife Samantha Moore; baby boy Campbell; son Eric Campbell; his parents; brothers and sisters: William Paul Campbell, Lisa Georgantakis; and John Campbell; and his several fur babies.
