Donald L Beidler

Donald “Don” L. Beidler, age 82, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Regency Park in Carroll surrounded by his family.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. John Paul II Parish - St. Lawrence Church in Carroll with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant.  Lector for the Mass will be Scott Wiederin.  Eucharistic Minister will be Joyce Baumhover.  Gift bearers will be Allison and Alex Arnburg and their children: Lilli and Paisley.    Casket bearers will be Grandsons: Austin Severson, Zach Severson, Seth Severson, Nick Mosher, Brett Beidler, and Andrew Archambeau.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service held at 7:00 P.M.  The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M.

Don was born on November 10, 1939 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of William and Golda (Caywood) Beidler.  He spent his childhood on a farm near Carroll and attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Lidderdale and graduated from Carroll High School in 1958.  He was married to Mary Jane Wiederin on February 9, 1963 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll.  They had four children: Dan, Sue, Kim and Mike.  After graduation, Don was employed by Juergen’s Hatchery until enlisting in the Army Reserve Program stationed at Ft. Knox, KY.  After his honorable discharge, he returned to Carroll and continued working at the hatchery which he later purchased and renamed B & B Hatchery.  Don later began farming the Beidler family farm and raised livestock until retirement.  He was a member of St. John Paul II Parish – St. Lawrence Center and the Carroll Moose Lodge.

Don is survived by his wife Jane of 59 years; his children and their families: Dan Beidler (Connie) of Carroll, Sue Mosher of Waukee, Kim Severson (John) of Papillion, NE, and Mike Beidler (Kim) of Muskegon, MI; nine grandchildren; three great granddaughters; a sister Pam Borst of Mesa, AZ; his in-laws: Linda Beidler of Mesa, AZ, Dorothy Wiederin of Carroll, Delores Schaben (Charlie) of Harlan, Florence Dugan of Marshalltown, Jeanie Schaeuble of West Des Moines, Rita Uckelman (Bernie) of Carroll, and Andy Wiederin (Rosie) of OroValley, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Golda Beidler; his parents-in-law Dave and Agnes Wiederin; siblings: Betty and Dick Morris, Bill and Colene Beidler, Dale Beidler,  and in-laws: Walt, Irma, Vernon, Paul, and Duane Wiederin, Joe Dugan, and Ed Schaeuble.
