Dolores Faye Leonard, age 89, of Glidden, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Regency Park in Carroll. The funeral service and visitation has been postponed one day due to weather. Service times are: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Glidden with Rev. Lorinda Hoover officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Tuesday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Organist for the service will be Marlys Conner and the congregation will sing. Casket bearers will be Matt Leonard, Marc Leonard, Andy Kennebeck, Levi Tipton, Trey Isgrig, and Tanner Isgrig. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Born on August 28, 1926 in Audubon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Dave and Bernice (Kness) Wickland. She grew up in Audubon and graduated from Audubon High School. Dolores attended St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Carroll where she earned her R.N. degree. She was married to Corliss ”Cork” Leonard on March 26, 1951 in Audubon. The couple lived in Glidden where Cork worked as a carpenter and Dolores worked at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in the O.B. Department and taught pre-natal classes. They were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Glidden where they were charter members of the Mariners and Dolores sang in the choir. They also belonged to the Glidden American Legion. Dolores was also a member of Entre Nous and the Glidden Birthday Club. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and doing volunteer work through the Foster Grandparents Program at the Glidden – Ralston School. She loved the 5 O’clock Somewhere Parties held at Regency Park and always made sure to invite her family and grandchildren. Dolores is survived by a daughter Nancy Isgrig and her husband David of Pleasantville, Iowa; two sons: Michael Leonard and his wife Marlene of Carroll, Iowa, and Jon Leonard and his wife Julie of Carroll, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Jennnifer Tipton and her husband Levi, Tanner and Trey Isgrig, Matt Leonard and his wife Katie, Marc Leonard and his wife Kristin, McKenzie Kennebeck and her husband Andy, Madison, Mitchell, and Nash Leonard; and five great grandchild Logan, Landon, Chloe Leonard Ethan Kennebeck and Liv Tipton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1988.
