Dixie Joy Crouse, age 87, of Lake View, IA, passed away on June 23, 2026 at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Central Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Gallegos officiating. Casket bearers will be Adam Wessling, Sam Monahan, Josh Crouse, Zach Monahan, Joel Daniel, and Jace Pruitt. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for a later designation.

Dixie was born on February 19, 1939 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Byron Clair and Viola Elizabeth (Wilkens) Earhart. Her father farmed for several farmers, so Dixie lived in various areas of west central Iowa before they moved to Carroll when she was in the sixth grade. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1957. Following high school she did bookkeeping for a local plumber. She was married to George Crouse on May 10, 1958 at the First Methodist Church in Denison. The couple made their home in Carroll where they co-owned and operated Crouse Cartage Company with George’s family. Dixie was a member of Central Church in Carroll. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and most of all spending time with her family. George and Dixie moved to Lake View in the 80’s where they owned Dixieland Trailer Park.
Dixie is survived by her children and their families: Renee Crouse of Wall Lake, IA, Jodi Seufert (Joe) of Carroll, IA, Todd Crouse (Teresa) of Lake View, IA, and Julie Pruitt (Jeff) of Breda, IA; 10 grandchildren: Marni Butler, Jessi Wessling (Adam), Sarah Manley (Jeff), Josh Crouse (Tiffany), Zach Monahan (Andrea), Niki Monahan (Sam), Joel Daniel (Tammy), Megan Butler (Dylan), Kiersten Worley (Weston), and Jace Pruitt (Karly): 22 great-grandchildren; a sister Pamela Stieren of Lodi, WI; sisters-in-law Jean Watt (Monte) of Cape Coral, FL, Shari Crouse of Panora, IA and Rose Crouse of Denver, CO; a brother-in-law Jeff Crouse of Lake View, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
Dixie was preceded in death by her husband George Crouse in 2020; a beloved son David Michael Crouse in 1965; a grandson Jimmy Butler; parents Clair and Viola Earhart; her father and mother-in-law Paul and Ruth Crouse; brothers-in-law Larry Crouse, Ken Crouse, Ken Stieren and nephew Kent Stieren
