   E. Dione McCullough, age 82, of Scranton, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Regency Park in Jefferson, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Scranton with Rev. Charlie Thompson officiating.  Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse in Scranton from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday.  The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Friday where visitation will resume until the time of service.  Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes.  Casket bearers will be Doug Lawton, Steve Snebley, Kim Bates, Neal Hoyt, Austin Minnihan, and Colton Morlan.  Burial will be in the Dillavou Cemetery near Scranton.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for Dione’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com             Born on December 21, 1931 in Perry, Iowa, she was the daughter of Claude and Estelle (Ellett) Bryant.  Her family live in Perry until she was seven years old when they moved to a farm north of Scranton.  Dione attended country school as a girl and graduated from Scranton High School in 1949.  Following high school she worked for Bergman’s Grocery Store in Scranton and later for a drug store in Jefferson.  She was married to Wayne Morlan on July 22, 1950 in El Paso, Texas.  The couple lived in Texas while Wayne served in the United States Army and Dione moved back to Scranton when Wayne went overseas.  After Wayne’s military service the couple farmed east of Scranton where they raised their family.  Wayne passed away in June of 1983.  Dione was later married to Joe McCullough on December 29, 1991.  Joe and Dione have made their home west of Scranton and she moved to Regency Park in Jefferson in February of 2014.  She was a member of the Greenbrier United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.  Dione was a 4-H leader while her children were growing up.  She wrote a column in the Scranton Journal for many years about community events and in later years she wrote about their beloved pet rooster Clarence.  Dione collected tea pots and enjoyed giving presentations about them to various clubs and organizations.  Dione had a kind warm heart and a zeal for life.  She was always ready to get in the car and go.  She loved spending time with her family and her many good friends.      Dione is survived by her husband Joe of Scranton; a son Jonathan Morlan and his wife Rhonda of Jefferson; a daughter Ellen Minnihan and her husband Mark of Ames, Iowa; a son Daniel Morlan and his wife Sarah of Grimes, Iowa; three grandchildren: Austin Minnihan, Colton Morlan, and Katie Minnihan; a step-son Kevin McCullough of Halbur, Iowa; three step-grandchildren: Sierra, Kayla, and John McCullough; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, and a sister Cleone Anderson.
