Denny was born on March 23, 1953, at St Anthony Hospital in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Harold and Shirley (Sill) Lucht.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church near Coon Rapids and was currently a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden.  Denny was affectionately known as Bullet, and he graduated from Glidden Ralston High School in 1972. He then attended college at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and graduated as a Carpenter. Denny did carpentry work and enjoyed doing the remodels and building new houses. He also worked on the family farm with his parents which he later took over along with his carpentry.  He took much pride in planting and harvesting crops.  This past year he suffered injuries in a combine fire but he still loved farming.   Denny was very proud of the quality livestock he raised over the years including cattle, sheep, and hogs, and he loved his cats.  The highlight of his farming career was going to the Iowa State Fair Century Farm Awards Ceremony which the Lucht farm received in 2019.  Denny was active in 4-H growing up showing cattle, hogs and sheep.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, and he loved going on family vacations to Okoboji and Spirit Lake fishing every summer.  In later years he would take his parents on fishing trips. Denny had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need.  He was so grateful for the outpouring of help he received from farmers and friends following the fire.

Denny is survived by his siblings and their families: sister Carol Bernard of Carroll, brother David (Debra) Lucht of Minburn, and sister Connie (Kenneth) Wiederin of Glidden; his nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Brant of Carroll, Allison Meyer of Ralston, Tyler (Amy) Lucht of Adel, Dustin (Beth) Lucht of Ames, Weston (Michelle) Lucht of Perry, Jason (Kim) Wiederin of Glidden, and Nick (Christy) Wiederin of Glidden; his great-nieces and nephews Brayton, Brianna, Blake, Brayden, Brenna, Landon, Adalynn, Lillian, Ethan, Aiden, Teagan, and Peightyn; his aunts and uncles: Ron Lucht of Coon Rapids, Richard (Judy) Lucht of Des Moines, Grace Lucht of Des Moines, Carl Schechinger of Hutchinson, KS; several cousins, other extended family members; and many awesome friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents Harold J. & Shirley Lucht, brother-in-law Robert Bernard, aunt Betty Schechinger, uncle Wayne Lucht, and cousin Randall Lucht.
