Dennis Wayne Bennett

Dennis Wayne Bennett, age 53, of Wichita, KS, and formerly of Carroll, IA, passed away to his heavenly reward on January 22, 2022 at his home in Wichita following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Reverend Angelo Luis officiating. Burial will be in the Dillavou Cemetery near Scranton, IA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

Memorials are preferred to the V.F.W. Post #3115 of Wichita in Dennis’s memory.

Dennis was born February 9, 1968 in Wichita, KS, the son of Jerald and Marjorie (Hanson) Bennett. He attended Clear Lake High School in Lakeport, CA, graduating with the Class of 1986. After graduation he moved to Carroll to be closer to his grandparents. He attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines for two years. He was especially close with his grandparents helping his grandfather on the family farm near Glidden. He found work in Glidden for several years. Following a tragic accident he made his home in Wichita where he lived with his mother until his passing.  He suffered from the aftermath of his accident for the rest of his life but he found great joy in life spending time with family and friends.  He had a generous and caring spirit. In his spare time, you could often find Dennis bass fishing or singing karaoke.

Dennis is survived by his mother Marjorie Elshoff of Wichita, KS; his father Jerry Bennett of Glidden, IA; his sister Adonna (Robert) Newman of Altha, FL; grandmother June Bennett of Carroll, IA; uncle Steven (Leslie) Bennett of Windsor Heights, IA; aunt Nancy Bonnichson of Gray, IA; nieces, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather LeRoy Bennett; maternal grandparents Elmer and Adonna Hanson; and several aunts and uncles.
