Delores Elaine, daughter of Guy and Anna (Dryer) Lile, was born August 13, 1931, at Audubon, Iowa. She grew up at Exira and graduated from Exira High School. On May 5, 1956, Delores was united in marriage with Jerry Brannan at Council Bluffs. They farmed near Audubon and moved to Coon Rapids in 1959 where Delores worked as a waitress at the Northside Café, Southside Café and Southside Lounge. In 1972 they moved to Spencer where she waitressed and as a seamstress in a dress store. They returned to Audubon in 1984. Jerry died December 28, 1996. Due to failing health, Delores moved to Coon Rapids in 2001. In 2003 she became a resident of Thomas Rest Haven Nursing Home where she died on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. She was 78 years old. Delores enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking – especially pies and cookies, having coffee with relatives and spending time with her grandchildren. Delores is survived by two children: Deb Wiskus and husband Kenneth of Coon Rapids and John Brannan and wife Barbara of Bastrop, Texas; four grandchildren: Jeromie Wiskus and wife Jamie of Breda; Deanna Fagan and husband Bill of Manning; Julie Studebaker and husband Mike of Carroll; Shane Wiskus and fiancée Allie Thielen of Ross; eight great-grandchildren: Keagan, Bryce and Kyla Wiskus; Joesph Fagan; Dillon and Emma Studebaker; James Thielen and Ashley Wiskus; a step-granddaughter Cheryl Smith and husband Donnie and their son Michael of Georgetown, Texas; a sister Donna Jean Giermann of Kiron and a brother Walter Lile of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Delma, in infancy; four brothers: Earl “Vern” Lile, Darwin Lile, Dallas Lile and Richard Lile; and a sister Edna in infancy.
