Delma Faye Richards

Delma Faye Richards, age 97, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Rikki Sorensen of the Carroll Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home after 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Delma’s nephews. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Born on July 21, 1917 in Taylor County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Elizabeth Catherine (Madden) Hill. She grew up and received her education in Corning, Iowa. She was married to Everett C. Richards on October 8, 1939 in Corning. The couple moved to Carroll in 1948 where Delma worked at the 71-30 Motel for twenty seven years and at Memories Antiques for two and a half years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll. Delma is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett, three brothers: Harold, Jerold, and Melvin, and two sisters Eva Moore and Pearl Rechsteiner.
