Deanna M. McCord, age 77, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Casket bearers will be Deanna’s grandchildren. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Visitation will resume at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday until the time of service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on July 26, 1939 at Carroll, Iowa, she was the daughter of Bertie and Clara (Wilkens) Peterson. She grew up in the Glidden area and graduated from Glidden High School 1957. Following high school she worked as a bookkeeper. She was married to Robert Headlee on October 4, 1958 in Monterey, California. To this union were born three children Michael, Mark, and Ronda. She was divorced and later re-married to DeWayne McCord on September 26, 1991 in Carroll. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Glidden. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, cooking, baking (especially her chocolate chip cookies), and spending time with her family and friends. Deanna is survived by her husband DeWayne McCord of Glidden; two sons: Michael Headlee (Jean) of Carroll and Mark Headlee (Tonya) of Grimes; a daughter Ronda Nicholson of Indianola; seven grandchildren: Tyler and Tanner Headlee, Alexa and Kaleb Headlee, and Jacob, Mitchell and Kaytee Nicholson; DeWayne’s children: Martin McCord and Kari Gurney and grandchildren Gage McCord and Payton and Mitchell Gurney; her brother Ronald Peterson and his wife Doris of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Deanna was preceded in death by Bertie and Clara Peterson, an identical twin sister Donna, and a son Robin in infancy.
