Darrell Herman Lohman

Darrell Herman Lohman, age 79, of Lidderdale, IA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his home in Lidderdale.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Deacon Alan Loew officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 9:30 to 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Darrell was born on July 19, 1946 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Marcellus “Bill” and Bertha (Brincks) Lohman. He grew up on a farm four miles north of Glidden and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1965. He worked for Boji Construction, Deluxe Cleaners, and 28 years as the administrator of the Carroll Moose Lodge. He also served as President of the State Moose Association in 1985. Darrell was a member of Holy Family Parish in Lidderdale and most recently St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. He enjoyed country music, picking up and cleaning walnuts, picking up cans, and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

Darrell is survived by his daughter Nellie Gustin (Mike Johnson) of Lidderdale; two grandsons: Eric and Dakota Gustin; three great-granddaughters: Kali, Kyra, and Cloe; one great great-granddaughter Emaline; one great great-grandson Casper; two sisters: LouAnn Ayers (Verle) of Omaha and Joani Lohman of Jefferson; three brothers: Ron Lohman (Collene) of Algona, Bob Lohman (Gordon) of Omaha, and Randy Lohman of Carroll; three brothers-in-law: Virgil Hoehne (Barb) of Panora, Floyd Hoehne (Barb) of Ankeny, and John Riesenberg of Fort Dodge; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by his wife Sandra in 2007; his parents Marcellus “Bill” and Bertha Lohman; his in-laws Art and Sylvia Hoehne; and two sisters: Karen Lohman and Diane Riesenberg.
