Daniel Lee Stork

     Daniel Lee Stork, age 61, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.       Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes.  Casket bearers will be Edwin Rogers, Rob Baker, Bryan Kriegshauser, Kyle Brown, Terry Garnes, and Terry Magner.   Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery.      Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday evening.  Visitation will resume at the church at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday and will continue until the time of service.        Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com       Born on August 16, 1957 in Carroll, IA, he was the son of Fred and Marilyn (Hoefling) Stork.  Dan grew up in Odebolt where he graduated from Odebolt – Arthur High School in 1975.  During high school he began working as a ranch hand and after graduation moved to Coon Rapids where he worked for Garst Farms as cattle ranch foreman.  He was married to Lesa Kirkdorffer on July 26, 1986 at their home in Coon Rapids.  Dan and Lesa lived in Coon Rapids where they raised their two children Hannah and Casey.  He has been employed by the Farner Bocken Company for the past 10 years.  Dan was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids.    Dan enjoyed following his children’s school sporting events and other activities, playing with his grandchildren, going for cruises in his Dad’s 1953 Plymouth and his 2007 Victory motorcycle, traveling to Fantasy Fest in Key West, riding his horse Boomer; and going to rodeos.  He also enjoyed taking family vacations to the mountains and playing catch in the yard with the kids.  Dan was an avid Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Iowa State Cyclones fan.  He had an infectious laugh and many cherished friends.        Dan is survived by his wife Lesa of Coon Rapids; his daughter Hannah Hunter (Tyler) of rural Jefferson, IA; two grandchildren: Adysen and Jaxon;  two sisters: Deb Stehr of Lake View, IA, and Denise Holmes (Daniel) of Mt. Carmel, IA; a brother David Stork of Lake View, IA; three sisters-in-law: Debra Sisson (Phil) of Grundy Center, IA, Renee McClellan of Eldora, IA, and Robin Luiken of Steamboat Rock, IA; one brother-in-law Nathan Kirkdorffer (Tawnya) of Webster City, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.      Dan was preceded in death by his son Casey Stork on July 8, 2009; his parents Fred and Marilyn Stork; his father-in-law Marlin Kirkdorffer; his mother-in-law Barbara Irlbeck; his step-father-in-law John Irlbeck; a brother Dennis in infancy; a sister Dianna Schonts; a brother-in-law Mike Luiken; and a sister-in-law Lori Stork.
