Daniel E. Gibson

Daniel E. Gibson, age 50, of Des Moines and formerly of Scranton passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A visitation will be from 3 – 5 P.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for Dan’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on September 9, 1964 in Jefferson, he was the son of Stan and Sandy (Anderson) Gibson. Dan grew up in Ft. Dodge and attended Ft. Dodge Sr. High. He served two years in the National Guard. He moved to Scranton in 1987 and to Des Moines in 1996. Dan was a very friendly person and didn’t know a stranger. He is survived by his parents Stan and Sandy Gibson of Scranton; a brother Dana Gibson and his wife Deanna of Bagley; his grandmother Norma Jean “Molly” Gibson of Scranton; a nephew Bryan Gibson and his wife Breann of Scranton; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Pauletta Anderson, his paternal grandfather Gene Gibson, and an uncle Rick Anderson.
