Dan Daniel

      Daniel Delbert Daniel, age 73, of Ida Grove passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.      A celebration of Dan's life will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 1 - 3 P.M. at Cobb Park in Ida Grove.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home and online condolences may be left for Dan's family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com      Born on December 29, 1944 on his family’s farm near Lidderdale, IA, he was the son of Melvin and Shirley (Lehrkamp) Daniel.  Dan grew up in Panora where he attended school.  Following his schooling, he worked construction and built grain bins.  He was married to Deborah Anderson on April 11, 1969 in Rockwell City.  The couple made their home in Lake City and they worked for Professional Laundry.  He later worked for Morrow Standard Gas Station as a mechanic.  They lived in various locations and moved to Ida Grove in 1994.  Dan enjoyed going to car shows, reading, listening to Elvis Presley, cooking, going to coffee with his friends, and spending time with his family.      Dan is survived by his children: Danielle Fulford (Tony) of Scranton, Donald Daniel (Jeannie) of Scranton, and Dustin Daniel (Donna Diekmann) of Scranton; three granddaughters: Amber Spaulding (Jacob) of Scranton, Brittney Daniel of Scranton, and Brooke Diekmann of Scranton; his great-grandson Gavin; five sisters: Kay Thiel of Council Bluffs, Rita Devilbiss of Jefferson, Patricia Kraft (Robert) of Riceville, IA, Linda Daniel of Waterloo, and Diane Reviello (Rich) of New Jersey; and a several nieces, nephews, and cousins.      Dan is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Shirley Daniel and his brother Ronnie Daniel.
