Dale Eugene Leonard

Dale Eugene Leonard, age 80, of Lanesboro, IA, and formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Dale was born on January 30, 1941 in Detroit, MI, and he was the son of Albert and Eva (Perkins) Leonard.  He grew up in Washington, IN, and attended Manual High School.  Dale was a truck driver for 37 years and lived in Grand Prairie, TX for 23 years and traveled the country in his RV.  Dale was a proud Harley Davidson owner and he loved going on poker runs.

Dale is survived by his two daughters: Sherri Dravis of Indianapolis, IN, and Sheila Young (Tery) of Lanesboro, IA; four grandchildren: David Dravis (Carey), Dustin Dravis, Shawn Young, and Sierra Sallee (Benjamin); four great-grandchildren:  Mason, Grant, Eva, and Vera; a brother Benny Leonard of Indianapolis, IN.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Albert Leonard and Eva Grabner; a sister-in-law Vivian Leonard; and his wife Tammy Leonard.

Funeral services will be held in Indianapolis next week with burial in the Washington Park East Cemetery.   The Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, IA, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
