Curtis Michael Frischmeyer, 36, son of Marvin & Julie Frischmeyer, was born October 11, 1986, in Carroll, IA.  Curtis graduated from Carroll High school in May 2005 and after high school, in July, moved into a waiver home. This move let him be close to home and gave him a chance to grow on his own. Curtis was blessed with many roommates through the years and truly gained a whole new family with Home Care Options.  A lover of all sports, Curtis especially loved his Hawkeyes, Cubs, Raiders, and Carroll Tigers. Throughout his early years, he loved watching his siblings play sports and help him participate. Most recently Curtis enjoyed watching his nephews play soccer. He adored being an uncle to his niece and nephews.  Even though Curtis couldn’t speak with words, his expressions clearly conveyed his thoughts and emotions. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He impacted so many lives with his smile, his laugh, and his orneriness. You couldn’t help but smile when he was in the room or on a sideline. Curtis loved playing practical jokes, riding in his parent’s corvette, and watching movies. In the fall, he put on his farmer hat and got to ride in the combine with his dad harvesting. The family farm was Curtis’s happy place and he visited every chance he got.   Curtis will be remembered, not only for his smile but for his courage and strength. His presence and spirit will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him, but especially his family and Home Care Options family.

Curtis leaves behind his parents, Marvin and Julie of Carroll; his siblings: Lisa Grossman (Jason) of Panora and David Frischmeyer (Melissa) of Milford; his nephews Benjamin and Theodore Grossman and niece Hannah Frischmeyer; his grandmother Regina Frischmeyer of Carroll; several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Curtis is also survived by his roommates Dan, Mike, and Spencer, many good friends, his caretakers, and his faithful dog Ruger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin & Iva Harmening, Leonard Frischmeyer, aunt Joyce Schulte, and cousin Steve Schulte.
