Connie Ewoldt

Connie Sue Ewoldt, age 59, of Carroll and formerly of Westside passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia with Pastor Ben Dose officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M.. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Friday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Lisa McNelley. Casket bearers will be Connie’s nieces and nephews: Shawn Ewoldt, Jacob Ewoldt, Joseph Ewoldt, Aaron Ewoldt, Anna Ewoldt, Adam Ewoldt, Melissa Hart, Cole Bush, Andrew Ewoldt, and Alexis Ewoldt. Honorary casket bearers will be co-workers: Kathi Peters, Heidi Jenkens, Marlene Tiefenthaler, Tara Ostbloom, Kristin Thompson, June Kennebeck, and Irene Ankenbauer. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. Born on March 12, 1953 in Carroll she was the daughter of Truman Henry and Pearl Ellen (Isaacs) Ewoldt. She grew up in the Westside area. She was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake on April 26, 1953. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Connie graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in 1971. Following high school she worked at New Hope Village for six years as a resident attendant. She also worked as a waitress at Denny’s and K& W Café in Westside. In 1988 she began working at Regency Park Nursing Home in the Dietary Department. Connie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting cook books, following the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Chiefs, Iowa State Cyclones, and the Ar-We-Va Rockets. Connie is survived by a sister Joan Reinart and her husband Alvin of Carroll; three brothers: Robert Ewoldt and his wife Gloria of Manning, Randy Ewoldt and his wife Kathy of Glidden, and Steven Ewoldt of Carroll; ten nieces and nephews; one great nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Connie was preceded in death by her father in 1986 and her mother in 1983.
