Colleen Ann Schulze

Colleen Ann Schulze, age 64, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital of Carroll.

Colleen Ann, daughter of Francis and Alice (Vetter) Young of Westside Iowa, was born on February 6th 1958 in Manning, Iowa. She grew up in Westside where she attended AR-WE-VA school district and graduated High School in May 1976 and attended one year of community college. In 1981 she married Randy Musfeldt where they resided in Manning and had three children: Sarah in August 1981, Jesse in June of 1984 and Alison in April of 1991.

In summer of 2007 she was remarried to Randy Schulze where they resided in Scranton, Iowa and later at the Schulze Farm north of Coon Rapids, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time at her grandmother’s house and watching and learning to cook from her and her mother and babysitting the neighborhood kids when she was in high school. She loved her job at Garst Seed Company where she worked for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with coworkers and friends, going to thrift stores and flea markets in the area, doing jigsaw puzzles, helping drive tractor on the Musfeldt farm, playing Bingo in Manilla, going to eat at her favorite restaurant Border Fare in Harlan, spending time with family that came back for visits from out of state and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

Colleen is survived by her three children: Sarah Benz of Lohrville, Iowa, Jesse Musfeldt of Coon Rapids, Iowa and Alison and husband Dustin Hartman of Manson, Iowa. Brothers: Wayne (Shirley) Young of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Bruce (Debbie) Young of Hopewell, Virginia and Dale Young of Mapleton, Iowa. Grandchildren Olivia Wiese, Abigail and Blaire Hartman. Nieces: Melissa Birchett, Megan (Ben) Fulp, Aarica (Brian) Dekker, Kim (Ken) Rosewall, Ashley (Ben) Green. Nephews: Michael Albright Jr and Aaron Young, many great nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew, other family and friends.

Colleen was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Parents, husband Randy Schulze, infant brother Gary Young, her sister Mary and husband Richard Douglas, her sister Beth Frazier and her nephew Matt Douglas.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in her honor at the EMS building in Lohrville, Iowa on Saturday October 1 ^st , 2022 from 2:30 – 5:30 PM. All family, friends and anyone that knew or knew of Colleen are welcome.
