Cleo L. Tilton, age 85, of Carroll passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday July 27, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Terry Plocher officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. on Friday. July 27, 2018 until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Inurnment will follow at the Carroll City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Carroll and the Carroll Animal Rescue. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on May 13, 1933 in Sanborn, IA, she was the daughter of Henry and Iva (Iverson) Kaiser. She grew up in Paulina, IA, where she graduated from high school. She attended Dubuque University and graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Cleo also did post graduate work at Iowa State University. She was married to Paul “Dick” Tilton on December 30, 1962 at First Presbyterian Church in Paulina. Cleo began teaching in Carroll following her education and taught sixth grade for 45 years and Dick owned and operated HR Cleaners. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll and P.E.O. Chapter E.B. Cleo loved her cats Dolly, Buddy, and Honey. Cleo is survived by her two nieces: Kristi Vaile (Michael) of Williamsburg, IA, and Carrie Wolter of Seattle, WA; one nephew Buckley Wolter (Nikki) of Prior Lake, MN; her great nieces and nephew; her cat Honey; and many good friends. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Iva Kaiser; her sister Sharon Wolter; and her husband Dick in 2012.
