Cleo Marie (Lehrkamp) Ankenbauer

November 29, 1933 — July 2, 2018

     Cleo Marie (Lehrkamp) Ankenbauer, age 84, of Carroll and formerly of Epworth, Fairfield and West Bend, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.      Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor Joyce Webb of the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids officiating.  Casket bearers will be Lonnie Lehrkamp, Bob Lehrkamp, Randy Brockman, Rick Brockman, Brian Brockman, and Bob Ankenbauer.  Honorary casket bearers will be Ryan McDonald, Dan Ankenbauer, Brad Ankenbauer, Andra Borgerding, and Judy Ankenbauer.  Burial will be in the Dedham Cemetery.      Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, where visitation will be held until the time of the service.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Cleo’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.       Born on November 29, 1933 in Carroll, IA, Cleo was the daughter of Frank and Annie Mary (Steinenger) Lehrkamp.  She grew up in Carroll and was married to Doug Ankenbauer in Kirksville, Missouri.  Cleo loved her family dearly.  She was a very good cook and enjoyed family gatherings which included poker games, reading her books, and going to the casino.      Cleo is survived by her three children: Deb McDonald (Jerry) of Des Moines, Ken Ankenbauer (Joan) of Epworth, IA, and Tina Crise (Dave) of Des Moines; six grandchildren: Ryan McDonald, Dan Ankenbauer, Brad Ankenbauer, Andra Borgerding, Amanda Crise, and Emily Crise; seven great-grandchildren: Thomas, Andrew, Kinzly, Benjamin, Letti, Bailey, and Jackson; two sisters: Naomi Reeves of Davenport and Mary Louise Brockman of Carroll.     Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Douglas; four brothers: Kenneth, Bob, Larry, and Paul; a sister Shirley Squires; and a great grandson Zachary James McDonald.
