Clara Leona Fiebelkorn, age 73, of Carroll passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by the Holy Spirit Choir with Barb McDermott as organist. Lector for the Mass will be Faith Laboy. Gift bearers will be April Tigges, Becky Bianchi, and Susan Schepanski. Casket bearers will be Phillip Holmes, Jay Holmes, Isiaiah Podewils, Indigo Holmes, Jeff O’Tool, Pat O’Tool, Belinda Richards, and Shaun O’Tool. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:00 P.M. on Monday where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday where visitation will resume until the time of Mass. She grew up in Carroll and attended Carroll High School. She was married to Arthur Fiebelkorn on February 1, 1969. The couple lived in Glidden after their marriage and later moved to Carroll. Clara had a daycare in her home for many years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting with her friends, and she loved her family especially her nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. Clara is survived by her six sisters: Marvagene Louis of Colorado Spirngs, CO, Jeanette Bolster (Fran) of Auburn, Mary Scott (Tom) of Ames, Elizabeth O’Tool (Warren Molser) of Christiansted, USVI, Barbara Karstens (Marvin) of Bryan, TX, and Jane Ann Podewils (Larry) of Carnarvon, IA; six brothers: Richard “Dick” O’Tool of Carroll, Joe O’Tool (Jolene) of Alpha, IL, Ralph O’Tool (Janie) of Malvern, IA, Frank O’Tool (Maggie) of Carroll, Jim O’Tool of Carroll, and Dan O’Tool (Meryln) of Houston, TX; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Clara was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer and Rosina O’Tool; her husband Art Fiebelkorn; three brothers: Arlen, Daryl, and Stan; and her special friend Donnie Schwabe.
