Christopher John Greteman, age 38, of Carroll, IA, and formerly from Denver then Arvada, Colorado passed away December 11, 2021.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
Chris, the son of Frank and Cheryl (Tigges) Greteman, was born April 22, 1983 at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He attended DMACC and studied project management at Colorado Technical Institute. He worked as a glass glazier in California, Iowa, then Colorado. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Windsor Heights, Des Moines and Council 12979 Arvada, Colorado.
Chris loved spending time with friends and family. He always entered a room smiling and soon you were smiling, too. He was a music and dance enthusiast. He excelled in cooking, putting, darts, or sinking a basketball. He was an avid skateboarder and enjoyed running and bicycling. He enjoyed learning all forms of construction skills. He designed and painted skateboards. He was a music event promoter with many followers that became lifelong friends. He had a business as a gems, jewelry merchandiser and frequent vendor at musical events and fairs.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Frank and Cheryl (Tigges) Greteman of Carroll, his brothers Eric Greteman of Coralville, Iowa and Shawn Greteman of Omaha, Nebraska.
He leaves behind his son, Cash (10 years old) “My Savior, who gave me new purpose and opportunity.” and daughter Nora (8 years old), “My dream come true, who taught me a love I had never known.”
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Norma (Clark) Greteman, his maternal grandparents, Aldred and Wanda (Lawson) Tigges; his uncle Patrick Greteman, his uncle Jeff Tigges, his cousin Dale Reineke, and his beloved brother Ryan Greteman.
