China Rose Starr, also known as Patty Gregory, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and formerly of Glidden, IA, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at her home. A Celebration of China Rose’s Life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Burial will be held at the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Memorials may be made in China’s name to the Gideons or the Glidden Public Library. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on August 23, 1951, she was the daughter of Francis & Maxine (Rider) Gregory of Glidden. She was a 1969 graduate of Glidden-Ralston High School. China Rose is survived by her sister, Cathy and brother-in-law, Stan Jackson of Hazelwood, MO; and cousin, Becki Gregory Smyrna, GA. She came to understand and accept the Truth. The Truth set her free from guilt and sin. She accepted the One Who declared, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Her life was filled with doubt and fear, but she had encountered the One Who rose from the dead Who promised “I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” She is now more alive than ever when she was on earth. She accepted the promised of the One Who said, “There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you.” China Rose would invite you to encounter the Way, the Truth and the Life. “But as many as received him, to them he gave the right (authority) to become children of God to those who believe in His name.” You study the Scriptures (the Bible), because you think that in them you will find eternal life. And these very Scriptures speak about the Way, the Truth and the Life; He Is Jesus!
