Chester Wojnar, of Placerville, CA and formerly of Rockwell City, was born on March 12, 1926 and passed away on September 18, 1997 in Placerville, CA. Erla Wojnar, of Placerville, CA and formerly of Rockwell City, was born on January 3, 1925 and passed away on September 14, 2017 in Placerville, CA. Memorial services for Chester and Erla will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Lytton Friendship Center in Lytton. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Garfield Township Cemetery near Lytton. Mr. Wojnar was born March 12, 1926 in Dartmouth, Mass. to Antone and Klemintyna [Kaszybska] Wojnar. Chester served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Pasadena. Following his discharge he worked for Northrop Aircraft and Douglas Aircraft Companies. He then owned and operated Chet’s Tractor a heavy equipment operation in Diamond Springs, CA for 25 years. Erla was born January 3, 1925 to Carl and Beryl [Lott] Hunt in Calhoun County Iowa. At the age of 19, Erla traveled to southern California where she worked in the restaurant industry. While in Southern California she met Chester and they were married December 23, 1957. They eventually moved to Northern California where they started their heavy equipment business. After Chester’s death in 1997 Erla moved to Gold Country Retirement Community in Placerville, CA. Chester and Erla are survived by Erla’s sister Donna [John] Meyer of Carroll, Iowa, 4 nieces and Nephews, 4 great niece and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
