Cheryl Marie Greenwell, age 60, of Carroll, Iowa passed away on June 5, 2011.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. by the parish. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Lector for the Mass will be Jean Warm and gift bearers will be Richard, Brenda, and Christopher Greenwell. Casket bearers will be Richard and Christopher Greenwell, Adam, Nicholas, and Dan Kruse, and Richard Larson.
Born on September 30, 1950 at Timber Lake, South Dakota she was the daughter of Morris and Rita (Holm) Larson. Cheryl grew up in Timber Lake and graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1968. She then attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Following college she lived in Denver and worked as a registered nurse. Cheryl moved to Carroll in 1983. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and P.E.O. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, skiing, hiking, backpacking and cooking.
Surviving are her two sons: Richard Greenwell and his wife Brenda of Omaha, Nebraska, and Christopher Greenwell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her mother Rita Larson of Crown Point, Indiana; a brother Richard Larson and his wife Jeanne of Louisberg, Kansas; and a sister Patricia Kruse and her husband Dan of Crown Point, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother William.
