Charlotte R. Prescott, age 83, of Coon Rapids passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Pastor Joyce Webb officiating. Visitation will held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 3 – 5 P.M. on Sunday afternoon. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes. Casket bearers will be Frank Prescott, David Prescott, Todd Prescott, Brendan Prescott, Troy Prescott, Roger Knute, Nick Knute, and Josh Smouse. Honorary casket bearers will be Charlotte’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great nieces and nephews . Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on July 8, 1932 in Coon Rapids, she was the daughter of Albert and Leta (Squibb) Augustus. Charlotte grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School. She worked for Garst and Thomas for over 40 years; starting as secretary and working her way up to Administrative Assistant to the CEO. She was married to Frank Prescott on February 3, 1952 at the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Charlotte loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, fishing for bullheads, shopping, and going to Las Vegas. She was a passionate fan at her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school activities. She had a warm heart and a giving spirit. Charlotte was famous for her baked beans and her “homemade” bread. Charlotte was a lifelong member of the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church and she belonged to the Red Hat Ladies. Left to cherish Charlotte’s memory are a daughter Kris Knute and her husband Roger of Carroll; three sons: Frank Prescott and his wife Jackie of Mt. Vernon, MO, David Prescott and his wife Brenda of Glidden; and Todd Prescott and his wife Pam of Ankeny; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a brother Terry Augustus and his wife Mary of Ames; four sisters-in-law: Pat Augustus of Bagley, Loretta Augustus of Clarksville, TX, Kay Augustus of Carroll, and Dora Prescott of San Diego, CA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank on February 17, 2015, a sister Patricia Smouse, three brothers: Jerry, Robert, and Keith and a granddaughter Jill Knute.
